Airways Aviation Academy Terminates Libyan Government Student Scholarship Program

London April 30th, 2019 - Airways Aviation Academy Terminates Libyan Government Student Scholarship Program

Airways Aviation has recently been forced to terminate its contract with the Libyan Government’s Ministry of Transport as a result of a series of contractual breaches, including failure to pay substantial and compounding outstanding fees.

The Airways team has worked tirelessly over many months in seeking a remedy including an amicable and practical payment arrangement with the Libyan Transport Ministry’s appointed Student Scholarship Committee but have been unable to reach any satisfactory resolution with or commitment from them.

As a result, it is no longer commercially viable or sustainable for Airways Aviation to continue to carry and absorb the costs of training and housing of the students under the Libyan Transport Ministry’s Student Scholarship Program and all Libyan students have been asked to leave Airways Aviation facilities and the accommodation provided by 3 May 2019.

At a time when there is a global pilot shortfall, these particular Libyan students have been put in a highly regrettable situation by their sponsors but Airways Aviation remains committed to meeting the industry demand for quality pilots.

As one of only a few renowned and truly global commercial pilot academies, our dedicated team of instructors, operators and administrative staff will continue to provide first-class training to it’s existing and future students from across the globe as we deliver our EASA, CASA and ICAO Training programs to meet the rapidly expanding international demand for pilots.

Please contact Airways Aviation for any further information or clarification.
